The Deepings School is a mixed 11-18 comprehensive school with almost 1600 students on roll. There are currently 261 students in each year, 7 to 11 and 270 in our Sixth Form. We sit at the heart of The Deepings, a vibrant, growing community in South Lincolnshire and are a member of a family of schools forming part of CfBT Schools’ Trust.
We have high expectations of our students during the seven years that the majority of them are part of our school family. We have equally high expectations of all parents/carers and members of staff and we know that you have high expectations of us, too.
At the Deepings School we place great emphasis on partnership and co-operation between parents, students and staff to ensure each child receives the best possible education. We encourage and welcome dialogue with all stakeholders of the school to achieve our aim of sustained improvement in all areas.
Our culture of care and positive relationships provide students with the confidence and independence they need to succeed both inside and outside school.
We believe that good systems to ensure behaviour for learning and clear and consistent and that the pillar of respect is at the heart of creating a climate for success. To this end we insist on smart uniform, positive behaviour and politeness. In turn this underpins our aim to enable students of all abilities to discover and develop, not only their academic potential, but also their creative and sporting talents. Of course, as an Enterprise Academy, we are also committed to ensuring that our students are positive leaders, strong problem-solvers and develop the life-skills required to prepare them for life after school.
Our hard working young people make excellent progress and achieve strong exam results. Many students choose to stay on for our thriving Sixth Form, from where the overwhelming majority proceed to university.
Our school is a safe place. Students belong to one of three Colleges (Guthlac, Welland or Priory) and this fosters a genuine sense of belonging. Each college has a ‘base’ within the school site and has its own pastoral and administrative staff. College Teams ensure students enjoy the choice and resources of a larger school along with the supportive atmosphere of a smaller one.
